I beat my personal best from 2007 with a small margin despite 8 mults less.
Summer noise on 80 made copying hard and 160 was almost impossible. Sorry for
those who called but didn't get a reply.

Once again BIG FUN in one of my favourite contests.

First thanks to IQ1RY team to let me use once again the station!

Condition were quite good on 15/10m but there were not enought people! I were
expecting something more from 20m but when I have moved there propagation were
too long and I miss many QSO! But as usual nice contest! I've tried for the
first time the mixed category and it's really nice..

See u next!

My first EUHF, station operational just minutes before the contest. 1946 license
was the oldest one I worked this time, good to hear Old Timers on the air.

I still have to learn when to change bands - I am not sure if there is any
activity on low bands during the daylight, I was mainly focused on 15 and 10m,
waiting for a sporadic E opening. Propagation not so good, not a single 100+
hour, or vertical antennas may not be the best choice for this contest.

Nice conditions on high bands but terrible QRN entire contest...
Receiving on low bads 160m-40m was very hard.
Need to QRT for 20 minutes whe thunderstor finally reached QTH.

Nice race with Mac SN2K (SP2DWG) - we were head to head entire contest so the
winner will be announced after log checking.
cqcontest.ru does not accept score posting from win-test for phone category in
this contest.

Thanks to all for QSOs.
Big Thanks to all stations which QSY to other band for multipliers.

SM5CKV(GØCKV)   CW Only LP   312,0042013-08-03 17:55:16
My first ever attempt in EU HFC. Good fun but had to pull away coax and close
down for 45 minutes due to thunderstorm passing over my excellent but exposed
DX-pedition QTH on a little hill on a small island in the Baltic (Harstena
EU-177, JO88MG). The local storms provided of course plenty of QRN on 160 and
80 - apologies for repeats and misses.

Used a K3 and two 10m grp poles supporting an inv L for 160, inv V for 80, inv
V for 40/15 and parallel inv V dipoles for 10 and 20.

There are plenty of good fast operators out there.

Thanks for the fun and the qsos

A nice game :)
Thanks everyone for taking part!

My best entry ever since:

2009 1052 q 283 m 297.716 pts
2010 1134 q 300 m 340.200 pts
2011 1166 q 314 m 366.124 pts
2012 1346 q 313 m 420.350 pts * mix category

Re-write of this early morning...

Was having several troubles on the beginning and did not have DXcluster for the
first two hours. Many thanks to HAMNET-Guru Bernd to coming up to the station to
reanimate the system. Seconds before the start we were still busy to locate the
problem in a by phone made remote diagnosing. After that I simply jumped in on
15m, without listening the bands. It was a good choice - the first was the best
hour with 139 QSO's. 3/12 hours were below 100 Q/h - rates droped down when
trying to have something going on 10 or 160. 20 was unusually slow, so the 40,
while 80/160 being very hard in use due bad static crushes.

Used SO1R. Suppose a problem generated by FT 920 - did I have a clean signal?

Many great operating skills and a lots of friends around makes fun. Thanks!

80, 40 - Dipole @10mh
20,15,10 - AD223V2 tribander @13mh

My plan was to play a bit on the bands and test
KPA but after first hour of 128 QSO's I decided
to stay longer in my shack. After that I could not
stop till the end.
Lack of 160m antenna reduced my score very much.
Tried to work as many station as I can on 160 with
80m dipole.
Propogation was good for EUHF contest this year.
80m was very very noisy with high QRN level.

My target was to improve the last year result: 624 QSO's, 215 multipliers and
134805 points.
For this year I proposed to do more than 700 QSO's, over 230 multipliers and a
score about 160,000 points.
I was lucky: saturday night propagation was good in 15 and 10m bands, and
allowed me to make a great number of multipliers.
After hours 21.00Z bands 80 and 160m was opened, but low power not helped me to
make too many QSO's.
Working conditions:
FT1000MP MarkV Field;
Optibeam 17-4 at 20m high;
Inverted V for 80m;
Inverted V and Inverted L for 160m

Terrible QRN on lower bands, I've lost lots of QSO and sorry to the guys i
couldn't figure out from the QRN 59+20 at times.

On the other hand, the 28 did show some of life after 3 years...not really
dead, but there was a glimpse or 2 at the beginning of the contest. Why does it
seem it was only LY-other part of EU propagation :) i think i worked 30 LY in
the first 20 minutes of the contest on 10 ssb. FUN, thx guys!

15m was so so so...incredibly hard to work anyone except the north guys...

My congrats to all the ops that answered me and a special thanks to all the
ones that QSY'ed for me..i am thankfull! There are some amazing scores - wow,
propagation and operating skills combined with a sprinkle of luck, congrats!

I did my best, had a blast and improved my best of score...What more there is

Heavy QRN on 80m and too low 160m dipole for normal work. 40m was the best
band. Due bad tropo location missed a lot of local S5 QSOs on higher bands.
With my set up SSB was totaly unproductive comparing CW . TNX all for QSOs and
great fun.

Before the contest I did not plan to operate full time but when I managed to
work a decent multiplier on 10m then I just could not stop before the end. Too
bad I had a poor temporary low dipole for 160m. Many stations were CQing in my
face due to the high QRN and therefore my 160m multiplier left a lot to be
desired. There were some nice pileups during the contest so I enjoyed the
contest.

Six years have passed since my last participation in EUHFC. I hardly remembered
what nice contest it is.I got the station set up for the contest just an hour
before it was time to fire the first CQ call. The main antenna is still missing
the rotor but in this contest it does not matter so much. Hopefully I get the
antenna system completed before we get the first snow on the ground. The antenna
project has by now been going on for 6 years. Anyway all the aluminium is
already up in the sky.

Many familiar calls were logged but as a pleasant surprise I found also many
new ones.
The low-bands were very noisy due to thunderstorm around.
Thanks for the QSOs and see you in coming up contests.

It should be better but used strategy and working conditions were not very
pleasant (high temperature and lot of hornets - maybe my result will be moved

In addition to these 1703 EU QSO's another 35 DX-QSO's were made. Decided that
it was easier just to work all callers instead of explaining the contest rules.
Hope they will call me also this weekend in WAE -:)

Very similar conditions and operating pattern to my previous effort in 2011 -
spent too much time on 10 and 15 and was running out of time for all other
bands. Lower bands were very noisy, even 20 meters, but copying on 80 and 160
was especially difficult due to thunderstorms somewhere close by.

I used cluster and skimmer this time and made a few mults more compared to my
2011 non-assisted effort but overall score improvement was not that big.
Cluster and skimmer made the second radio operation much easier even though the
point'n'shoot method was less fun than tuning the VFO to find stations. 230
second radio QSO's were made (in-band SO2R), mostly on CW. Still need to work
on my SSB SO2R skills.

Many thanks once again to ES5TV for letting me use his station and for even
driving to the QTH (150+ km) the week before to set it up for me. Everything
worked flawlessly, no technical issues whatsoever.

73's & thanks to all for the QSO's,
