Score includes (1) 10 point contact with VA3RAC on 160.

Worked both the OQP and MIQP for a couple of hours late Saturday evening. 40
was long, but I did manage a few QSOs there. 80 and 160 were in decent shape
with fairly low noise.

Thanks to all for the QSOs.

Not as much activity as I would have expected. No 80M antenna hurt my score
some. I did manage a few QSO's on 15 including two with XM3CX for 6 QSO's.

Only operated 1 hour on Sunday

VE3KI   Single Op LP   12,3422009-04-19 12:14:53
Missed Saturday evening.

Started out CW only, but decided to try out a new portable 6M antenna. Heard
VE2DWA on SSB on Sunday morning, called him on CW but he was SSB only, so after
spending a while finding a microphone and setting the radio up for it, I called
him, made my first-ever 6m QSO, and then we ran the bands in phone mode. I made
a couple of other SSB QSOs while the mike was still connected.

VE3OZO   M/S LP   5,3762009-04-19 13:00:43
My grandson (age 11) was visiting and asked if he could talk on the
radio, so I coached him through a couple of qso's,
hence, the multi-single category.

73 to all
Steve, VE3OZO and grandson, Damon.

I'd missed competing in this contest for several years - glad to be back!
As usual, it's a jungle out there when you run qrp!

Great thanks has to go to the hard work of the rovers. Not the greatest
conditions but a lot of participation. I hope everyone had fun. SO2R on CW
about half of the time.

I found the activity very light. Once I hit #300, I decided it was time to do
yardwork...then #301 popped up before I could hit the power button. Oh well, I
may need that one for insurance. It is better than last years score. I could
not use the spotting network, as the online family computer is upstairs..and
the ham station is relegated to the laundry room.

VE3VZ   SO SSB LP   8,5332009-04-19 17:33:03

Lots of family committments meant I could only jump in and out on Saturday. No
time on Sunday at all.

Thanks for all the Qs.

Wasn't that a Party!
No record for Huron, but beat last year by 1K without going to 20m. Too much
gardening on Saturday afternoon.
Good conditions on 80m on Saturday PM and Sunday AM. Too much static crashes
on 160m to dig out any weak ones, so not much effort there. Went to 40m for
last couple of hours on Sunday after 80m dried up. CW was miserable with a
wonky keyer that wouldn't slow down and a sticking Bencher that wouldn't
behave. I sounded like an idiot an felt like one too! Couldn't get a single
dash and most times got two or three. Finally wired up a straight key for the
last few Qs on 80 and 40m. Got to get N1MM to code for this great contest. I
kept hitting the wrong buttons and forgot to change bands and modes, so was
always editing my log. I know, not the program's fault...too used to N1MM.

Nice to work VA3ZW as the Muskoka station, who checked in to ONTARS on Sunday
AM. Where was Bruce County?

Thanks to the Rovers who must have had fun with the great weather.
Thanks for all the Q's. Log will be posted to LoTW and eQSL.

XM3CX(VE3CX)   Single Op HP   355,1002009-04-19 19:26:00
Rough going on Saturday, so I concentrated on CW on Sunday to try and make up
some points. Ended up down almost 100 QSO's from last year, but still managed
to beat my last years score.

Had a nice run on 20 SSB Sunday morning, so that certainly helped.

Thanks for the QSO's!

73,

VE4EAR   Single Op LP   1,1802009-04-19 19:49:22
Just in and out for a few hours. Very noisey on 80m but some really great ears
in our neighbor province.

Thansk to the organizers!

100w., 40/60/160 vertical, 4BTV.
Too close to Ontario for 20/15/10.
Many thanks to the good ears up there.
Couldn't find 3CCO anywhere.

VE3MGY   Single Op LP   131,1922009-04-20 05:02:18
Ran SO2R and after some initial hiccups with the setup it worked very well ( it
was an adhoc decision only 5 minutes before the start of the contest ). A
somewhat steep learning curve at first but it really made the contest a lot
more fun ( and a bit more challenging copying CW in one ear on one band and SSB
in the other ear on another band ). I had a computer crash in the first few
hours which shut things down for a while I found the problem and fixed the
software. I initially thought I had lost 150+ QSO's but it turned out not to be
the case which was a good thing as the Simcoe record has been officially broken.
Activity seemed pretty constant here with an average rate of about 40/hr for the
entire contest with 100+ peaks on the rate meter.

Thanks for all the QSO's.

Many thanx to all those who stopped by for a QSO!

KØPK   SO CW HP   21,8402009-04-20 07:48:59
Fun contest despite uninspiring propagation. Activity seemed down this year.
It's amazing how many non-VE3 ops call in on "CQ VE3" CQ's! I answered many
with the standard contest exchange and they disappeared.....

Thanks for the Q's! 73 - Paul, K0PK

VY2LI   Single Op HP   2662009-04-20 08:17:45
Not much action here Saturday and a large slate of NHL hockey playoffs,so
adjourned to the TV room.Caught the last hour or so on Sunday for a few more S
& P Q's(calling didn't seem very productive as replies were coming from
everywhere except VE3-land) and almost doubled my dismal score from last year.

Hope we were able to help with a few VY2 mults.73,Bill

K2, 5w, verticals. Only had an hour or so on Sunday to participate.

K6CSL   Single Op LP   152009-04-20 17:30:45
I had sure hoped to do a little better in this one. However conditions have
remained poor. I was also hearing that the other end was severely noisey due to
the severe storms in the eastern areas. I certainly hope conditions will be
better next year. Bert, K6CSL
