Very poor propagation this weekend. 80 meters opened only last 20 minutes of
contest Yoi QSO's Oh Domo Arigatoh!

This is very rare activation of my JA callsign.

Propagation was poor then number of participants were low.
Nice to say hello to so many friends, anyway.

See you next time.

Condx started off OK on 40m but absorption was present. By 0600z Sun I had 606
QSOs....the entire rest of contest yielded 62 (!) more QSOs. The condx on 40
were very bad the second nite. The bright spot was a ~2.5 hr opening on 15m
which produced 189 Q.

Thanks to Ken, N6RO for the hospitality and FB Chili.
Thanks to all Jas who called me!

We could hear other USA Stns 450 to 1500 miles north of us running JAs on 40
meter band but in San Diego we lacked propagation. JA stations seemed to
purposely avoid 20 meters. We never heard the usual Big JA super stations on
80. Had we any clue condx would be this bad, we'd have just gone to the beach
for the weekend.....
